It’s all about YOU and your experience aboard the Reel GRooV! We want to see each one of our anglers have a GRooV (groovy) time while making wonderful memories with their friends and family. Our team is known for their exceptional customer service and the ability to make each trip a fun time for all.
We stand out from our competitors because we are federally permitted, and Coast Guard-approved to take up to 18 passengers out on the Gulf of Mexico. This is a plus because it allows us to cater to large groups while most boats in Panama City can only hold up to 6 people. We can also fish in federal waters where most can only fish in state waters or inshore.
The Reel GRooV is a large 43’ BHM offshore sport fishing boat. It was built in 1985, so we can’t even imagine how many fish this boat has brought to shore over the years. She is a comfortable boat with air-conditioning, a bathroom, a mini kitchen, a table with bench seating, bunk beds, live bait well, and a covered back deck to help block the harsh sun. It is a boat we have earned many five star reviews with and is great for taking out into the Gulf for a full day of fishing.
The broad selection of tours we offer gives us the ability to cater to the desires of a variety of customers. We are proud to boast one of the few family-friendly or child-friendly fishing experiences for families visiting the Beach. We especially enjoy sharing in the fun and enthusiasm of our “young anglers” so make sure to bring them along! If you are a novice to the sport, no worries, our professional crew is patient and will work with you to ensure your day on the water is fun and rewarding. If you are an experienced angler, we will set you up with some great fishing spots to catch the most fish you can in the allotted time. If you have older adults in your group who just want to come along to watch, we have plenty of space for them to get comfortable as well.
Most of our customers want to go deep sea fishing or bottom fishing for the variety of fish species these types of fishing have to offer. With the majority of our fishing holes lying from 10 to 40 miles offshore we utilize the trip time with high-speed trolling to allow for some additional fishing. This seems to be a hit with our customers, especially when we bring in a big Wahoo, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, or Tuna.
When planning a fishing charter there are several questions to consider.
Do you want to go inshore or offshore fishing?
Do you want to bottom fish with a rod and reel or go high-speed trolling?
How many people are in your party?
How experienced is everyone, have you fished before or are you a novice?
How long do you want to fish for a 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12-hour trip?
What species of fish do you want to target Red Snapper, Trigger Fish, Grouper, etc., and are they in season?
Captain Gary-Ray and his team are experts at what they do and will take the information you provide to help you plan the perfect day on the water. Call us with your ideas and we will discuss all of the available options. We will take care of the necessary preparations so you only have to bring the items you want to ensure you have fun.
Everything required for fishing, the fishing license, ice, live bait, and tackle is included in the booking fee and will be provided for you during your trip. Items you may want to bring with you include sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a camera, drinks, snacks, and a tip for the crew. We will have fishing shirts and hats available for purchase during your trip or you can shop for these items in our online store prior to your arrival.
Summer months are considered our high season and availability gets limited quickly so you will want to book your trip as early as possible once you know your dates.
While the majority of our tours are focused on fishing, we do offer more than just a day with hooks and reels. If fishing isn’t your thing, come join us for a “sunset cruise” or “beverage cruise” and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views and breathtaking sunsets while cruising through the bay and down the beach. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy some dolphins chasing alongside the boat while you relax and decompress in this natural setting. If you are interested in catering some food for a “dinner cruise” we are happy to assist with it as well.

For as long as people have sailed the seas there have been occasions where it was necessary to perform the traditional “burial at sea” for a fallen sailor. Today many people, civilian and sailor alike, wish to follow this tradition by choosing the sea as their final resting place. If you have a friend or loved one who has expressed this desire please contact us so we can help you make these arrangements. Schedule Your Next Trip
Book online or over the phone with a $500 deposit & pay the balance the day of your trip OR pay the full balance when booking.
When the captain confirms your trip, you will be charged a $500.00 deposit to guarantee your reservation. The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:

When paying the remaining balance with a debit or credit card, an additional 4% charge will apply.
Meeting Location
Treasure Island Marina, 5550 N Lagoon Drive, Panama City Beach, FL 32408. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled trip. If the boat isn’t in the slip when you arrive, we may be getting fuel or returning from our previous trip. We will be with you ASAP.
Change or Cancellation policy
After booking, you may cancel within 24 hours for a full refund. After 24 hours, your deposit is non-refundable.
If you choose to pay the full amount, you can cancel with a refund (- deposit) up to 30 days before your trip date.
If you need to change the number of guests in your group, we will settle up the difference the day of the trip.
In the case of unsafe weather conditions or a boat malfunction, we will try our best to reschedule your trip to another available date/time. If we are unable to reschedule, we will refund the full amount to you.
